The HOPE Initiative mobilizes funds to implements targeted interventions to complement formal education and training systems existing in Tanzania while ensuring that targeted children will not be deprived of the support they need to thrive
Thus, our activities include:
- Scholarships Awards: (school fees)
- Material support to poor children at the primary, secondary and vocational Levels.
- Provision of learning materials at the primary, secondary and vocational levels
- Short-term, skills-based courses in tailoring, carpentry, metal works, hospitality, agriculture, ICT, and entrepreneurship. This aims at supplementing vocational training to enhance employability and self-reliance
- Provision of assistive learning devices
- Construction of Inclusive infrastructures to make learning environments equitable and friendly for children with special needs
- Specialized training in inclusive teaching strategies, adaptive learning tools, and the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for the teachers and vocational trainers in our schools
- Counseling, guidance, and mentorship programs for children and educators to enhance teaching-and-learning processes and career choices.
- Advocacy in promotion of inclusion, encourage support, and advocate for relevant policy improvement in inclusive education and vocational training to embrace persons with special needs.
- Identifying, developing, and managing potential strategic partnerships and opportunities to build a strong, ongoing collaborative relationship with stakeholders
- Facilitate sports events, leisure activities, and events for the marginalized children to maximize their active learning and utilize their talents that will open them to more and better opportunities (e.g., goal ball, football, basketball, volleyball, music, poetry, painting, and related activities relevant to children with special needs)
